NEP 2020 recommends removing rigid streams, introducing a common entrance for universities (CUET), multiple entry and exit in degrees, and four-year undergraduate programmes with honours and research options.
For a Class 10 student the practical effects are CUET for central universities, more mixed combinations being accepted, and the four-year integrated teacher programme (ITEP).
