Basic vs Standard Maths (Class 10)
The two levels of Class 10 Mathematics, which decide whether you can take Mathematics (041) in Class 11.
Standard Maths is the full course; Basic Maths is an easier paper on the same syllabus. CBSE norms allow Mathematics (041) in Class 11 only after passing Standard. Basic students can take Applied Mathematics (241).
CBSE has allowed exceptions in some years, and schools may apply their own conditions, so ask early if you took Basic but want 041.
