Psychology in Class 11: what it is really like
A science of the mind with experiments and statistics, not a conversation about feelings.
What you study
Methods of enquiry, the bases of human behaviour, development, perception, learning, memory, thinking, motivation and emotion in Class 11; intelligence, personality, stress, disorders, therapy and social influence in Class 12. There is a practical with experiments and case profiles.
Who it suits
Students interested in people and systems who are comfortable with data and careful reading. It pairs well with Biology (clinical interest), Economics (behavioural interest) and Sociology (social interest).
Where it leads
BA or B.Sc Psychology through CUET, then clinical, counselling, organisational or research paths. Clinical psychology needs an M.Phil or the newer professional routes, so it is a long road.
