Law after Class 12: CLAT and which subjects help
Any stream qualifies. Reading, reasoning and current affairs decide it.
The exams
CLAT for most National Law Universities, AILET for NLU Delhi, plus university tests such as SLAT and LSAT India. All accept any stream with around 45% in Class 12.
Subjects that help
English Core for reading speed, Political Science for the constitution and polity, Legal Studies for legal reasoning, Economics for current affairs. Mathematics is not needed; CLAT's quantitative section is Class 10 level.
Beyond NLUs
A three-year LLB after any degree is the other route, so a student unsure about law can take a BA and decide later. The five-year integrated course saves a year.
