Design and architecture after Class 12: what Class 11 subjects help
Architecture needs PCM. Design needs a portfolio and any stream.
Architecture
B.Arch needs Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 and admission through NATA or JEE Main Paper 2A. Engineering Graphics or a Fine Arts subject in Class 11 builds the drawing skills the tests reward.
Design
B.Des through UCEED, NID DAT or NIFT is open to any stream. What matters is observation, drawing and thinking, so Painting, Graphics, Design (830) or Fashion-related skill subjects help. NID has a tight age limit, so decide early.
Animation and games
Any stream. Computer Science or Multi-Media as a skill subject plus a portfolio of work is the usual route into animation, VFX and game design programmes.
