Compartment (supplementary) exam
A second chance exam, held a few months after the main board exam, for students who failed a subject.
If you fail one or two subjects in Class 12 you can appear in the supplementary exam, usually in July, and still get the same year's result. If you took a sixth skill subject and passed it, the replacement rule may save you from the compartment altogether.
