When is Science and Mathematics Olympiads held?

IOQ is usually in January or February; camps run from April to June.

Science and Mathematics Olympiads

Not an entrance exam, but the olympiad stages (IOQ, INO, OCSC) open doors at IISc, ISI, CMI and abroad.

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy and Junior Science tracks.

School students below the age limits set per subject (usually Class 12 or below, with age caps around 20).

Indian Olympiad Qualifier (IOQ) in each subject, then the Indian National Olympiad, then an orientation-cum-selection camp.

Mathematics (041) and the sciences at their full depth are the preparation; this is the one route where going beyond the syllabus in Class 11 pays off directly.

Admits to: Selection for the international olympiads; exemption from some entrance tests; strong signals for IISc, ISI, CMI and foreign universities
